An appropriatign of $73.500.000 is authorized as this countrys allocated share of the expenses of operation of the International Refugee Organization for the fiscal year beginning July 1. During this past year. our share of UNRRA expenditures. together with the amount expended by our occupying forces for the care of displaced persons. has amounted to $130.000.000. so that the authorization in this bill represents a saving over the expenditures of the past year of $58.500.000. Certainly we cannot abandonthe task which we have undertaken to help care for these unfortunate people. most of whom cannot or dare not return to the country of their origin.
