President. and the committee invited those who feared it might do so to present their own amendment to make perfectly clear that it does not. Therefore. I think I am entitled to say there is no controversy regarding the joint resolution itself. On the other hand. the distinguished Senator from West Virginia . is anxious to discuss the general subject of immigration which inevitably is related objectively to the discussion of the measure. He has agreed with me that if the joint resolution may be taken up as in legislative session when the Senate convenes tomorrow. he will be prepared to present his case. Inasmuch as I think that is the only controversyin fact.
