Even Great Britain. despite her own desperate plight. has agreed to subscribe 14.75 percent. her share of this budget. Canada has joined. too. as have France and Norway. the Philippines. Liberia. and Denmark. and three of our sister American Republics. Honduras. the Dominican Republic. and Guatemala. thus bringing the organization into reality through agreements to subscribe for almost 75 percent of its budget. Let us pray that with united effort through this International Refugee Organization and through a just solution in Palestine. a ray of light may be introduced in the blackness--which is lifefor the displaced persons and refugees in Europe in 1947.
