They will receive assistance from Jewish agencies in Great Britain and in the United States. as well as in other parts of the world. so they will not be so dependent upon the economy of Palestine as they would be if they could not count on receiving assistance from people in the United States and in other countries who sympathize with their plight. Mr. President. with the exception of TransJordan. I visited all the Arabian countries in the Middle East. The great impediment -to solving the problem is the fear that the migration of Jews to Palestine will result in a Jewish majority eventually developing over -the Arab population. Mr. President. I do not believe that question is involved in the problem of giving refuge to 100.000 emigrants. because there are 1.200.000 Arabs to about 600.000 Jews. Therefore another 100.000 Jews would not result in a Jewish majority over the present Arab population. Moreover.
