Session #79 · 1945–47

Speech #790107199

Today we are facing the shaping of a new worlda world in which:there must be justice. tolerance. and good faith if any of us are to live in peace and prosperity. There is still a possibility of saving the lives of some of the unfortunate Jews whom Hitler failed to eradicate. Neither we nor the British people will forget that it was a Jewish woman scientist. a refugee. who gave us a vital link in the research which led to the perfection of the atomic bomb. The war is over. There are. of course. still problems in the Middle East.
