UNRRA has had a major hand in alleviating the tragic circumstances of the displaced persons in Europe. At the request of Allied military authorities. more than 400 specially trained teams of UNRRA workers were assigned in Europe to aid the armies. They jointly with the armies organized and conducted camps. they screened and started for home the desperate refugees who either through Nazi guile or force were uprooted from their homis and thrust into the despicable German war machine. Though the displacedpersons program is far from finished. it is well enough underway. From this investigation I made of UNRRA two things become clear as water.
