Mr. Speaker. as one of the newer members of this committee who has taken his work on it very seriously. I want to reiterate what the gentleman from Illinois just said. I believe there is no more important work that will come before this Congress in the future than the determination of our immigration and naturalization laws. I know that the committee today is illequipped to meet the problem. I believe that to rule this out because the wording of the resolution does not appeal to some of the Members would. indeed. be a shortsighted policy. I bespeak your earnest consideration of the resolution.
