Session #78 · 1943–45

Speech #780248146

Further reserving the right to object. Mr. Speaker. this is but one of perhaps a dozen bills reported out by the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization. and in each instance the report accompanying the bill. as is the common practice. contains a letter submitted to the committee by the head of the department interested in the proposal. but I have been intrigued by the fact that in all the letters submitted to the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization by the Attorney General. and which are contained in these several reports. the name of the Attorney General. his identity. is indicated in blank. I wonder if there is any particular reason why the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization thought it inadvisable to disclose the identity of the Attorney General who is submitting these letters.
