Two congressional actions also call for special recognition. One is the voluntary relinquishment of your extraterritorial rights in China. The other is the revision of your immigration laws insofar as they affect persons of Chinese nationality. These two actions are further demonstrations of your friendliness and of farsighted statesmanship. I shall try in a few minutes to tell you of the efforts of the Chinese people in the prosecution of the war. and of Chinas aims for the peace of tomorrow.
