Session #78 · 1943–45

Speech #780200583

It has nothing to do with Zionism. It has nothing to do with a Palestinian army. It has nothing to do with changing in any way our immigration laws or policies. It merely looks to provision for the temporary admission of some of these Jews and other special victims of Nazi brutality who have been marked for extermination and slaughter to Ellis Island or other reception centers. where they will be detained and cared for until they can be returned to their homes without the risk of losing their lives at the hands of our vicious enemies. We have in this country at the present moment more than 100.000 prisoners of war.
