I was very much interested In the gentlemans speech in favor of action by the Congress of the United States to promote immigration into Palestine by doing away with restrictions under the white paper. I feel that a resolution along those lines should be passed by the Congress. not necessarily putting us on record in favor of a Jewish commonwealth. for that is a matter for the people over there. and there are many In America who think that if we endorsed a Jewish commonwealth in Palestine we might be involved in some future war. There is. however. no reason why the Committee on Foreign Affairs should not meet and pass a resolution upholding the Balfour resolutionupholding the resolution I myself introduced and that was passed by Congress in 1922 in favor of a homeland for the Jewish people in Palestine. and denouncing the white paper. and insisting on the right of the persecuted and hounded Jewish people of central Europe to enter Palestine.
