Hon. Francis Biddle. appeared before our committee. There is pending before the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization. a bill which would take away the citizenship rights of any Americanborn citizen Who declared his loyalty to any other country. This bill. perhaps with some modification. under the views expressed by the Attorney Qeneral. would be constitutional. and I believe it would help very much in solving some of the problems with which the country is faced. and particularly our Committee on UnAmerican Activities. So I commend to the Members of the House to take an interest in this bill. which is H. R. 2701. I hope the Immigration and Naturalization Committee will meet and commence hearings and bring the bill to the floor as soon as possible. because it would be helpful to have it enacted into law.
