Chairman.-I would like to preface my remarks by saying that practically every responsible organization on the west coast is in favor of this bill. Mr. Chairman. as I have stated on a previous occasion. I am heartily in favor of H. R. 3070. a bill to repeal the socalled Chinese Exclusion Act. I have heretofore given what seemed to me to be sound reasons for this stand. Today I feel even more strongly that this act should be repealed. and I shall state additional. and I believe compelling. reasons for my convictions. they are: First. the Chinese people. illhoused. illclothed. illfed. and practically unarmed as they arb. have for years withstood the onslaught of the Japanese hordes.
