They know that every nation will. after we have won this war. become more or less selfsustained. They believe in friendship among nations. but do not believe in a goodneighbor policy that has to be bribed and bought at the expense of the American people. They believe in trading freely with those nations who have the same standard of living as we have. But they do not believe in bringing the American farmer and laborer down to the level of the LatinAmerican peon or the Japanese coolie. They consist of 90 percent of the American people. I shall vote against the extension of this law.
