Session #78 · 1943–45

Speech #780007798

Fourth. AllAmerica AntiImperialist League: The letterhead of the AllAmerica AntiImperialist League for 1928 lists the name of William Pickens as a member of the national committee of the organization. The fourth national convention report of the Communist Party. a copy of which is in our committees files. says: "Our party was largely instrumental in the establishment of the AllAmerica AntiImperialist League * * *." I could provide a very voluminous file of evidence to show that this organization was one of the Communist Partys front organizations. but suffice it to point out that the Attorney General himself. in his decision on the deportation of Harry Bridges. has characterized it as a Communist front. Fifth. International Labor Defense: William Pickens was a member of the national committee of the International Labor Defense. according to the organizations letterhead of February 1929.
