President. on Monday last. while the calendar was being called. I temporarily left the Chamber. Upon my return I found that two bills which had been reported from the Committee on Immigration had been passed over. Neither of the bills is controversial. and I ask unanimous consent that they be considered at this time. The bills are Nos. 1718 and 1719 on the calendar. The first of the bills. House bill 6450. would amend the Immigration Act so as to provide a change in procedure in the reporting by the Department of Justice concerning deportation proceedings. and otherwise. Under existing law the Department makes an annual report. Under the provisions of the bill the report to Congress would be made periodically. The other bill. House bill 4167. provides for the naturalization of certain alien veterans of the World War.
