That in the administration of the immigration and naturalization laws Constantinos Dardas shall be held and considered to have been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence on August 21. 1939. at Ellis Island. N. Y. Upon enactment of this act the Secretary of State shall instruct the proper quotacontrol officer to deduct one number from the nonpreference category of the quota during the current year. With the following committee amendments: On page 1. line 7. after "York". insert "if he is admissible under the immigration laws other than those relating to quotas." On page 1. line 10. strike out "nonpreference" and all of line 1 on page 2 and insert "quota for Greece during the first year that the said Greek quota is available." The committee amendments were agreed to. The bill was ordered to be engrossed and read a third time. was read the third time. and passed. and a motion to reconsider was laid on the table.
