Many Americanborn people are trying to get into the war industries and work for uninterrupted production. but they find when they apply for jobs that they hre asked to prove their citizenship. They are asked to produce birth certificates. There are probably a numberperhaps a large numberof Members of the House of Representatives who might have difficulty finding their own birth certificates. The purpose of this bill is very simple. It is to permit Americanborn citizens who want to get jobs in defense industries to have certificates of citizenship issued to them when they are unable to provide their own birth certificates or other records. as long as they can satisfy the Commissioner of Immigration.
