Mr. Speaker. today we passed a bill which affects. In two ways. our foreignborn citizens. It aids persons over 50 years of age to become citizens. and secondly. it makes it possible for the Attorney General to institute proceedings to cancel the naturalization of citizens proven to have an allegiance to a foreign government. Recently. President Roosevelt addressed an appeal to the employers of the Nation pleading .with them not to discharge men and women in their employ because they are foreignborn. That request of the President met with general approval. At this point I ask unanimous consent to insert a brief editorial appearing in the New York Enquirer of January 12 on the subject.
