Session #77 · 1941–43

Speech #770111177

It seems to me that if there is to be an appeal. it should be to a court rather than to an administrationappointed board. If the individual has had his day in court. then an appeal would not be necessary. When appeals are made. then make them to a court of competent jurisdiction. It was suggested by scme of the membership that there may be cases where individuals might be deported without having their day in court. It is for that reason that the amendment is offered at this time. It Is not with a view of relaxing the situation In any respect.
