Session #77 · 1941–43

Speech #770106859

There are men here today who honestly and conscientiously differ with me. I have no quarrel with them. I do not question their motives. although some of them apparently question mine. I do question the motives of the royal refugees who are being entertained day after day and day after day at the White House and in New York City and in other places throughout the country. and I do question the motives of the Englishmen who want to get us into war. They are not doing it for the benefit of the United States. They are doing it to help England.
Identified stereotypes
Royal refugees and Englishmen are accused of having ulterior motives for wanting the US to enter the war.
