Mr. Speaker. $14.000.000 of W. P. A. funds have been allocated by the President to set up a Nationwide citizenship educational program for aliens to be sponsored by the Immigration and Naturalization Service of the Department of Justice. In view of the fact that the appropriation for relief in the fiscal year 1942 was reduced to $910.905.000. I believe that every cent of this money should be used for the benefit of our own people. I therefore use this minute to register my objection. I do not approve of any projects that will further reduce the pittance now going to those unfortunate American citizens who are forced to rely upon public employment or public assistance in these trying days.
