Session #77 · 1941–43

Speech #770072010

I am just as much opposed to Harry Bridges as anybody. and I have done everything I can to have him deported. I helped write the law which makes it possible for him to be deported. I am in no way justifying the vacillation to which the gentleman refers. but I do think that the question of the hour is the preservation of our own country. I do think the thing in which we should be vitally interested is what is before us and the task at hand right now. I have a number of quotations here from the hearings that I wanted to use. but time will not permit.
