That is precisely the type of comment which calls for reply. and again referring to the Rules Committee session I said: I like Mr. DiEs personally. He has worked with me on the Committee on Immigration. I have been here long enough to have worked with nearly everyone who has been here and I mean to be perfectly fair with everybody. I also stated then and there. and I have the public documents and the record. that in order to overcome any criticism. there should be a committee to investigate unAmerican activities. but that either a new committee should be appointedof which I did not wish to be a memberor a standing committee of 21 members should be organized under the rules of the House. and again I stated that I did not wish to be a member of such a committee.
