Session #76 · 1939–41

Speech #760252173

There seems to be a feeling that it is not necessary. There is danger that we allow our sympathies to run away with our judgments. I am going to vote for the bill. for it is a gesture in the right direction. Another reason I have for saying that this bill should not come before us for consideration today Is because the membership of the Committee on Foreign AffairsI have talked with several of themnone of them seem to have a very strong conviction that this bill ought to be brought before us. No one from the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization has spoken.
