In 1928 the Republican Party nominated as its standard bearer Herbert Hoover who had served his apprenticeship in public service as Secretary of Commerce. a man who had had charge of relief for the refugees of Europe and who had served competently during the years of the war In aiding the unfortunate citizens of foreign warafflicted countries.
