Mr. President. after that explanation I desire to say that I am happy to have had the opportunity of yielding to my distinguished colleague. I assure him that there was no reflection upon the part of the Senator from Arizona or myself relative to the chairman of the Immigration Committee. because we happen to know personally as well as generally that no committee of this body has a more able chairman than the junior Senator from the State of Georgia . I know. just as the Senator from Washington has stated. that the day following the arrival of the bill here It was dispatched to the proper official of the Government for comment. according to my recollection. and that immediately after the return of the Senator from Georgia he designated a subcommittee to consider the bill. the Senator from Utah being the chairman thereof. There was not the slightest idea of casting any reflection upon the Senator from Georgia.
