To my notion. that was conclusive that he was a Communist in belief. in sympathy. and in action. Here is a case of a man who has been in this country more than 20 years and has never made a serious attempt to become a citizen of the United States. The Dies committee. which has rendered a great patriotic service to America. took a great deal of testimony upon the Bridges case. and all of that testimony was incorporated in and made a part of the hearings by the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization of the House. No fairminded person can read that report. I think. without reaching the conclusion that Bridges is not only a dangerous radical alien. wholly undesirable as a citizen. but also a Communist.
