Hoover has performed a difficult task in a very satisfactory and eminent way. I am not in sympathy with the criticism and attacks which have been made on him. For this reason it is a matter of gratification to me that the Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization has been transferred to the Department of Justice. and I hope it will be placed under Mr. Hoovers personal direction. Acting in this position. he can do much to control alien activities in this country. and. supported by drastic legislation requiring the fingerprinting and registration of aliens. much can be accomplished to relieve this country of the danger which now exists from alien influences which are antagonistic to our form of government.
