Invariably he refused to do this. Can any lawyer think of a man being condemned or deported on evidence such as that--secret evidence? The agent said he had confidential information. and he did not considerhe was the judge of ithe did not consider it proper to reveal its source. because he thought it might be inimical to the interest of the Government of the United States. Can anyone conceive of the great Government of the United States trying to send anybody to prison or to deport any alien on evidence such as that?
