I have heard two or three attacks against the Associated Farmers. I can truthfully say to the Members of the Houseand this can be proventhat there is no group of people in the State of California who are any more sincere toward people in distressed condition that have come to our State in the last 3 or 4 years than are the members of the farm organizations out there. In one school district in my home county last year. after the farmers paid a school tax of $2.11 in the district they were called upon to pay an additional $1.40 school tax to care for the school children of the migrant people who came there from other States. They also had to pay an increase in the cost of hospitalization. which was placed upon those farmers. I never heard a whimper out of any one of them when I was home last summer or the year before.
