I want to say to the gentleman from New York. in round figures. the Congress increased the appropriation for F. B. I. $2.600.000 during the present session. This was to meet emergencies. Surely if aliens are entering this country illegally it is the duty of this organization to take those in custody who are violating our immigration laws. They do not have to have any specific authorization to do so. I am sure Mr. Hoover will welcome any information the gentleman from New York or any other Member has. The F. B. I. is charged with certain responsibilities. Surely a congressional committee could not do the job of apprehending those who violate our laws.
