Assuming that the Senator from North Carolina is correct in his statementand I do not know whether he is correct or not. I am not disputing his statementand assuming that our Government never made a real effort to get some other government to take back criminal aliens. and there is such an alien who has violated a law and has been sentenced to the penitentiary for. let us say. 2 years. and then to be deported. in view of the Senators statement that our Government has not made an effort to return such aliens to the countries whence they came. does he think there is anything fair or just. after that time. because we cannot. through the neglect of our Government. get them into another country. that we should send such aliens further to jail or to concentration camps. whatever they may be called?
