This bill was introduced by the junior Senator from Tennessee and has been favorably reported. as. of course. the Senator has observed. from the Committee on Immigration. The bill does not call for the fingerprinting of aliens. as does a bill which was introduced by me at the last session. In view of the conditions in the country today. particularly when we are reading so much about sabotage and espionage in the country. we must have some sort of check upon the thousands of aliens who are coming into the country. and the enactment of the bill certainly would be of benefit to the Department of Justice. and particularly the division now interesting itself in running down spies and saboteurs.
