At the time of the 1937 census there were 6.234.613 foreignborn residents in the United States who had not been reported naturalized. The estimated alien population as of July 1. 1938. was 3.838.928. Thus. there was a total decrease of 2.395.685. in our alien population. between the aforesaid dates.
