I would say nothing about Harlan or any other county. This bill expressly provides that an alien can be possessed of a weapon without deportation. provided it is not unlawful in his home State to have the weapon in possession. If the State of New York permits aliens to possess machine guns and sawedoff shotguns. the alien could not be deported under this bill for possessing such weapons. We take the position that a good. lawabiding alien does not need machine guns or sawedoff shotguns in this country. Such weapons are used to hold up banks. kill the officials. to rob trains and express offices. to kill officers of the law. to kidnap. and engage in gang murders.
