Session #76 · 1939–41

Speech #760103379

It seems to me if I were going to a foreign country I would like to be fingerprinted for purposes of identification. I can see no reason why anyone should object to that. Personally I would like to see all of those who are here fingerprinted. I would like to see them registered. The Committee on the Judiciary. however. did not see fit to go that far. and all this bill provides along that line is that when a person applies for a visa he shall be fingerprinted. one copy sent to the Department of Justice. one attached to his visa. and one kept in the office of the consul where he makes his application. Mr. Speaker.
