Last week the immigration committee of another body reported out favorably an amended bill sponsored by the Senator from North Carolina . by the terms of which all immigration into the United States is prohibited for a period of 5 years. Pending now in committees of both Houses of Congress are bills providing for fingerprinting of aliens. the carrying of passports within this country. decreeing deportation for aliens who have not filed application for citizenship within 30 days of their arrival. the bills differing as to the time limit for such citizenship. Mr. Speaker. one might well ask.
