Mr. Speaker. the resolution to which I have referred is as follows: Senate Concurrent Resolution 28 Resolution memorializing the Federal Congress to enact adequate legislation providing for speedy deportation of all alien residents who do not signify their willingness. desire. and intention to become citizens of the United States within a reasonable time after entry into the United States of America Whereas it is estimated that there are approximately 8.000.000 residents within the boundaries of the United States of America who have neither become naturalized nor filed any declaration of intention to become citizens of this Nation. and Whereas this large group of alien residents provides a fertile field for agitators and organizations who are not in sympathy with the American form of government. and Whereas it is the sense of the Legislature of the State of Kansas. that this large group of alien residents should not be permitted to enjoy the freedom and privileges of this Nation without assuming the corresponding duties and obligations of citizenship: Now. therefore. be it Resolved by the Senate o/ the State of Kansas (the house of representatives concurring therein). That the Federal Congress be. and it Is hereby. requested to direct its attention to this condition and to enact adequate legislation which will provide for speedy deportation of all allen residents of this country who do not within a reasonable time signify their willingness. desire. and intention. and qualify. to assume the obligations of citizens of the United States of America. be it further Resolved. That the secretary of state be. and he is hereby. directed to transmit properly authenticated copies of this resolution to each branch of the Congress. to each member of the Kansas congressional delegation. and to each of the United States Senators from Kansas. be It further Resolved. That the secretary of state forthwith transmit properly authenticated copies of this resolution to each of the legislatures of the several States of the Union which are now in session. same for their consideration and action. if they so desire.
