Session #76 · 1939–41

Speech #760005418

I would do anything within my power to stamp It out. From my contacts with the Secretary of Labor. as chairman of the Labor Committee. I am forced to the conclusion that she is personally as much opposed to communism as I am. I hold no brief for Mr. Bridges. and my opinion of him is not concerned in my desire to learn the truth with regard to the application of the immigration laws to his case. If the evidence in his case proves that he is deportable I would do everything possible to have him expelled from this country.
