I mean to say that the Department of Labor has a record for deporting all aliens who have no right to be in the United States. be they Communists or members of any other group that should be out of the country. I assume the gentleman wants me to take up the cudgels for Bridges. but all I can say to the gentleman. without taking up too much of my time. is that I am not in sympathy with Bridges and so far as I am concerned he can leave now. but the Department is proceeding under law and order and when the decision comes down from the Supreme Court dealing with that matter and other questions. I am sure the gentleman himself. in spite of the statement about his alleged charges for impeachment of the Secretary of Labor. will be satisfied that the law is to be enforced.
