I may add that I visited Ireland last summer and discussed this matter with Irish officials. who concurred with my view of the facts. One of the measures which I introduce is a general bill applying to aliens coming from all countries. (Senate bill 546. introduced by Mr. LODGE and referred to the Committee on Immigration. appears elsewhere under its appropriate heading.) Representative MCCORMACK. of Massachusetts. is introducing a similar bill in the House. I understand that this bill has the support of the Labor Department. I introduce it because. being an administrative measure. it may have a superior chance of passage.
