In the first place. in that district is the city of Detroit. the largest in the country on the Canadian border. and that. of course. gives rise to a tremendous amount of litigation which would not otherwise arise. It is also a northern city on the northern border of the United States where practically all of the products of its manufacturing establishments are shipped south over State lines to other portions of the country. We have in that city the Immigration problem and the customs problem. due to the border situation. As is well known. it is the principal producer of automobiles and drugs in the United States. and the great bulk of its products. of course. is shipped into Interstate commerce and also into international commerce.
