I have offered an amendment to insert. in line 5. on page 2 of the bill. the word "illegally" before the word "possessing." This amendment should be adopted in all fairness and equity. The Constitution gives us the right to bear arms. and we must recognize that right. I do not want any alien to be deported if he has a firearm in his home. a hunting gun or a hunting rifle and does not use it illegally. Under this section the mere possession of it in his home would involve him in a deportation if he were an allen.
