I deem It my duty to come to the defense of Cardinal Mundelein. whose honor and reputation have been attacked by the scurrilous. clubfooted. bloodpurging German mountebank and demagogue. Dr. Goebbels. whom a clever Dutch artist has rightly described as the greatest wellpoisoner propagandist of all times. Cardinal Mundeleins ancestors emigrated to this country from Germany 130 years ago and lived in our district. They were honored and respected in our community. where they reared their families and fought in all the wars in our republic. Cardinal Mundelein is as patriotic an American as any of our great American forebears.
