The reason I say it is unfortunate that this matter is being considered today is because there is now pending before the Committee on Immigration a series of bills that. if considered adequately and extensively. and if they could have been brought out upon the floor of the House for final consideration. would have enabled us to have a real. modern. uptodate deportation bill. Just why some members of the Immigration Committee are pushing the Dies bill forward with one hand and lending encouragement to Mr. STARNES for his bill is hard to understand. This bill. as the author apologized for it.
