Hawaii entered the Union Jn 1898 as an incorporated Territory subject to all the immigration. labor. and other laws of the United States. No Chinese laborers have entered Hawaii. since 1898. No Japanese laborers have entered since 1908. when the RooseveltIshii "gentlemens agreement" was signed.
