The result was that England adopted vocational work and other countries have done so. We thought it was necessary to take the same steps. and why? Because prior to the immigration acts we were getting our skilled and unskilled labor from foreign countries. and when these acts were passed restricting immigration we had a shortage of skilled labor in this country. No person will ever know the wealth it has brought to us to have vocational training in this country. but the farm boys and girls were neglected. Finally. when we passed the GeorgeReed Act. we started them on that program.
