I may say to the gentleman from New York. I do not recall whether there has been or not. There have been some laws passed with reference to immigration matters. Since then I do not know what effect the facts brought out by those investigations had. However. the activities are continuing and have done so even since the former committees were in existence. They have grown in their intensity and in their viciousness. and those investigations. I may say. occurred 3 or 4 years ago. We still think. from evidence presented to the Rules Committee. that there is abundant reason why there should be an investigation as provided by this resolution.
