Session #75 · 1937–39

Speech #750023963

Chairman. I cannot yield further. for I have only a few minutes. I do hope the Members will see the bill in the same light that we. the members of the Committee on Immigration. have seen it. to the extent that it was voted out of committee unanimously. This same piece of legislation passed one branch of Congress during the last session. but it was held up in the House on the Consent Calendar. We are bringing it up for consideration today in the hope that every Member will realize and appreciate the hardship that is being worked on American citizens now living in the United States who are trying to do their share in the upkeep and upbuilding of this great country.
